Router Availabilty | Polling Interaval issue

Post by wiproltdwiv »

Attached pdf was the observation we found when we checked branch post re-configuring the polling interval to 1 min.the router was rebooted. Even then the router availability for that particular time shows 100%. Attached the report. Router was rebooted at 5:36 PM and came up by 5:38 PM, but the availability is 100% up.

pls clarify.

How many retries are configured for this host check? Could it have been responding to pings before it was fully up?

If the check attempts are set to five attempts at 1 min each, and if the downtime was less than 5minutes (which it was as it was only down for 2 minutes), then the check never reported a HARD problem state as it recovered after a maximum of two SOFT failures. That is why your uptime is still reported at 100%.
