Nagios replacing SNMPD Configuration File

Post by verditer »

Hi All,

I am new to nagios, we did a fresh install of nagios core (v3.2.3) and every time nagios server is restarted, its replacing the existing snmpd.conf file, and so custom entries added manually in that file are getting lost. Please help!

Regards

Is this a packaged version of nagios? At no point in time, should nagios overwrite or interact directly with the snmp configuration files. Can you provide a before and after of the altered file? Also do you use puppet or any other centralized configuration management that may be doing this?
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
