Monitoring nagios on a other network

with Auth Check i recieve a Server Timeout in the Server Status field i recieve OK


Server State = OK
Auth Check = Server Timeout

so the server is reachable with the port 87 on it except it does not go trough the authentication proces with this port i think ???

What version of nagios is this, I understand it's listed as nagios3 via the package manager, however I am wondering the actual application version, 3.x.x. Otherwise, to be honest, it may work to use a different port on fusion, however this really will not give you any additional security, as many have said before me "security through obscurity is not security." It would be far better to restrict the firewall between core and fusion so that only fusion and possibly your workstation has access to core. We are testing this internally, to see what happens with port variations as well.

I believe this is a bug in Nagios Fusion. Our lead developer is looking into this and we will let you know when this is resolved.

The issue has been resolved in the latest release of Nagios Fusion. You can download it from here:

thank you for your reply , is there a way to easy update the nagios fusion R1.5 to R1.6 in the console ? using putty.

Yes you simply download the tarball, extract it, and run the upgrade script within the expanded folder.
