Internet Explorer & Nagios

Post by waydms »

Nagios XI Version 2012R2.3
Virtual PC, 32-bit.
Was using Internet Explorer 9, 32-bit. Now using Opera.

Not sure where I should place this topic but I guess it can be moved once posted or reviewed by a mod.
Just upgraded to the latest build. No major jump just one step up.
Went to add one of our technicians to a specific host via Alert Settings. Found that Assigned was completely blank and I could not add anyone. This was the same for both contacts and contact groups. The same for hosts and services as well.
Odd instance was odd.
I was using Internet Explorer 9 at the time and never really have a problem with it (aside from the occasional crash :D ). Switched to my Opera browser and everything is working perfect. Wanted to let someone know in case there is a bug or something wrong with the new upgrade.
My compatibility was on, so turned it off. Same issue. No smartscreen, no pop-up blocker, standard stuff really.

Let me know if you have any questions! Will try a few things here and there throughout the day.
Maybe the forum can figure this out, no rush though.

Thanks for time and efforts as always,

waydms

Hmm I was not able to reproduce this myself on IE. Though I am running 10 rather than 9. If you would like to you could post a "possible" bug report for more investigation, the place to post this would be:

Code: Select all

http://tracker.nagios.com/
Meanwhile I will try to get my hands on IE 9. Did you see any other interface problems?

No problem, if you log out of XI, then restart your browser and log back in do you have this issue? We reproduced it once here, but when trying to reproduce it again the problem was gone. This was with a bone stock IE 9 install, no special security / encryption settings.

Not positive, but it could be that somehow there is cached javascript.

Is it possible to clear the browser cache and try again?

Believe corrected it.
So I had tried compatibility and no compat.
Cleared out everything.
Looked through my settings.
Checked Developer Settings and switched the Browser Mode to IE 9 Compatibility View on, everything worked. Turned it off and it still worked.
Odd in general. Random glitch?

Nah, probably just caching issues. We will lock the thread, but will continue to keep an eye out for this issue.
