XI Update download links not working

Post by TBT »

Checking for updates for Components and Wizards in on Nagios XI 2012R2.5 I see several new versions. Clicking on the download links do not initiate a download.

Tested on several workstations in multiple browsers (Firefox and Chrome) with the same results. However, right clicking the links and opening in a new tab work.

Please advise.

I can confirm this behavior. EDIT: This is due to cross site restrictions and https/ssl. It is wai if you force https. If you are not using ssl/https let us know.

Yes, our XI servers are using https/ssl.

Yeah, then this is WAI. It is a part of browser cross site restrictions.

Would these WAI restrictions be new to popular browsers? What is a work around?

For the record, this wasn't an issue back in August when we were at 2012R2.4

Could be. I have the same issues on a 2.4 ssl box as well. Pull up the js console (ctrl-shift-j) and then try to click one of the download links. You should get an error resembling:

Code: Select all

Unfortunately I just updated all 10 XI servers, I'll have to wait till another package update is available.

Let us know what you come up with regarding the console.

Confirmed.

Code: Select all

Can this browser security feature be temporarily disabled or do know a work around?

This looks like something new to browsers. See the following page for firefox information and a potential way to temporarily disable the restriction. (FYI - you should be able to right click the links still)
