Is this the actual hostname of your esx server?

No, do I have to delete the host and reconfigure it to change it or can I go in the settings somewhere and change it?

You are best off removing and recreating it.

So, you followed closely all of the documents listed below, but you are not able to see any of the hosts that have been imported, correct?

http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... p_Tool.pdf
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... nto_XI.pdf
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf

Do you see the configs in the hosts/services directories?

Code: Select all

ll /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts
ll /usr/local/nagios/etc/services

Yes, I see config files, but these are the hosts and services that I added manually.

Is it normal that after I added two vmware hosts full of guests that the xi server is now running a little slow?

Did you create config files by hand on the cli or just through the interface?

It all depends. How many checks did you add?

I created each host individually on the Gui interface under the configure tab.

I added all of the VM checks (mem, cpu, datastore, network, etc).

Remove the host and its services through the XI Core Config Manager.
