How to find what user name Nagios uses to check services

Post by sheetzdw »

I am trying to find what user name Nagios uses to check services and what permissions are required.

I have a check that looks for a folder , we replaced the server and copied all folders / files but apparently not all the permissions.
Since the original server is crashed I cant just look at the old permissions.

all other Nagios alerts are working so I am pretty sure it is just permissions that Nagios uses to check+

Here is the error Nagios gives me:

Status Information: Could not construct return packet in NRPE handler check client side (nsclient.log) logs..

Usually, nagios and nrpe will use the 'nagios' user.
