Last Check time does not match timezone

Post by dazau »

The "last check" time displayed in Nagios XI does not match my time settings (it shows in GMT). I have followed the Nagios XI time settings doc and all looks ok to me.

localhost service status details for this host Up 27d 17h 29m 12s 1/10 **2013-08-29 18:47:39*** OK - 127.0.0.1: rta 0.026ms, lost 0%

My time Zone is +11 GMT (Pacific/Efate)

System Profile: (is correct)
PHP Timezone: Pacific/Efate
PHP Time: Fri, 30 Aug 2013 09:31:54 +1100
System Time: Fri, 30 Aug 2013 09:31:54 +1100

/etc/localtime
TZif2LMTÀ
VUT-11

/etc/sysconfig/clock
ZONE="Pacific/Efate"

/etc/php.ini
date.timezone = Pacific/Efate

ntpd is installed and configured as per Nagios XI doc.

[root@nagiosxi /]# date
Fri Aug 30 09:49:24 VUT 2013

What have I missed?

Have you tried restarting the server? I've seen this type of weirdness, even though, not very often. The resolution was to restart the server. I am not sure what causing it. It's probably something, environment specific.

Bingo! That fixed it, why didn't I think of doing that? Maybe I am too used to just restarting services and hardly ever rebooting Linux servers!

Thanks for you help.
