Alert's not firing

Post by jguendulain »

Hi,This is my first post, I found some with similar problem, but suggested solutions did't work for me.
I configured an alert that shoud fire when bypass is activated in a UPS. I'm using a saved query that shows results in a dashboard for the configured period (4 hours back). The alert runs every 2 minutes. The alert last run status allways shows is Ok, but the query result is always 0 matching entries (as I said, I get results when the same query is run in a dashboard).
Thanks in advance for any help! Javier

Greetings, welcome to the forum :)

Some few simple things that come to mind:

- What is the Lookback Period set to in the Alert Settings popup?

- Does your saved query (which the alert is based on) consistently show results if you set the timeperiod to match your alert's Lookback? A 2 minute interval is aggressive, you may be 'missing' the hits if your lookback is also narrow.

- Assuming it does indeed, is any difference if you delete the alert and create a fresh one based on the query?

This one may help too, page three defines the alert popup options:
