Hi,
Currently we are using Nagiosxi on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.4 (Maipo).
Our Azure team found that there are some vulnerabilities and want to update the machine.
They want to update RHEL version to 7.5 or latest based on the availability. If they update, will that affect our monitoring?
Please provide the solution.
Thanks!

If you are upgrading to RHEL 7.9 no. You should make sure you have the latest upgrade from Nagios to make your upgrade process go smoother.

it keeps on loading......
If you are upgrading to RHEL 7.9 no.
Are you suggesting to upgrade or not?
Thanks!

Hi lanxessinfy,
We generally do recommend that you stay at the latest version of nagios and keep your operating system current. If you're still having problems with the update hanging please take a look at this thread and the guidance provided by lmiltchev:

Knowledgebase Documentation
Nagios XI - Reset Upgrade Status In Web Interface
If that doesn't work and you're still having problem updating nagios please generate a system profile for us and send it to me via PM so we can take a quick look.
Thanks,
Keith

Hi lanxessinfy,
While RHEL 7.9 is supported every environment is different and we encourage you to go through this process in a test environment prior to production. You should create an environment that reflects your production environment as closely as possible - then go through the upgrade -- It is allowed by our license agreement for this very reason.
Nagios XI License Policy
With every purchase we offer 3 separate activation of XI licenses. One for production, one for testing, and one for high availability. We always recommend upgrading on a test server first before making changes to the production server.
