Monitoring VMware Virtualization Using vMA - NWC14

NOTE: Monitoring VMware virtualization using vMA is obsolete. Please see Monitoring VSphere.

Anyone who has tried to monitor VMware virtualization using the existing Nagios plugins available will have experienced one thing ... your Nagios host becomes unresponsive as you monitor more and more objects. This has to do with the VMware SDK, it's CPU and memory hungry. The box293_check_vmware plugin is a new plugin that has been written from the ground up to overcome this issue. This plugin is NOT designed to be run on your Nagios host, instead it is offloaded to the VMware vSphere Management Assistant (vMA). This presentation will demonstrate the capabilities of the plugin along with how to get it up and running.
